Percentage of women of reproductive age (15-49) who are using (or whose partner is using) a contraceptive method at a particular point in time. Denominator is the number of women aged 15-49 who are in a marital or consensual union.
Contraceptive methods include female and male sterilisation, injectable and oral hormones, intrauterine devices, diaphragms, spermicides and condoms, natural family planning and lactational amenorrhoea where cited as a method.
