Alcohol consumption (15 years)

Source: Health Behavior in School-aged Children (HBSC) and European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Drugs (ESPAD) This indicator uses data from two sources: HBSC (survey 2013/2014) and ESPAD (2011). Wherever HBSC data was missing, ESPAD data was used. Countries not having any data from both studies are left with missing data. ESPAD data was used for: Andorra, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Monaco, Montenegro, Republic of Moldova, San Marino, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. For HBSC data, young people aged 15 were asked to report their frequency of drinking in the last 30 days. For ESPAD data, students aged 15 and 16 were asked to report their frequency of drinking any alcoholic beverage also within the last 30 days. The findings presented here show the proportions who reported having drunk on 3 or more separate occasions over the last 30 days.
