Briefing note on the strategic application of big data and their use for policy-making

Big data and the associated emerging field of data science have been receiving much attention as potential new sources of information to help achieve sustainable development ― outside routine information systems, in official statistics, and to inform policy-making. Discussed at the 67th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe, Budapest, Hungary, 11–14 September 2017. (WHO/Europe)
